EMPIRE STATE BUILDING PLANE CRASH 1220
In 1945, on a foggy Saturday morning in late July, an army B-25 cargo plane crashed into the building between the 79th and 80th floors. The crash caused an elevator to fall to the bottom of its shaft, leaving the sole occupant, the operator, unharmed, but 14 other people were killed and the crash caused a million dollars in damage, according to the Empire State Building's website. The crash did not, the website says, affect the "structural integrity" of the building. You will receive a high quality glossy photograph processed on Kodak Royal photo stock.
